York Developments' first planned residential development, Canebrake, and its sequel, Canebrake Golf Community, along with Canebrake Country Club, are carved out of the woodlands of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Comprising over 1,300 acres, the highly-acclaimed communities and club include a 250-acre ski lake, over 760 beautiful homes, an 18-hole golf course and a 750-member private country club.

Canebrake won Southern Living's "Best Residential Development of the Year" and the golf course was rated the "#2 in the Nation - Best New Course under $50" by Golf Digest in 1999.
